In December 2023 we discovered a situation that could cause the Go Direct® Charge Station (GDX-CRG) to overheat. We designed a replacement and started shipping units with a fix in January of 2024, as well as issued a recall so that we could fix units already in the field.
If you look at the bottom of the unit there will be a label that lists a model number. The model number of the defective units is “GDXCRGXXXXR1“. Units that have been repaired will have a sticker that says “Updated to Revision 2”. Units that were built as a revision 2 unit will have a model number of “GDXCRGXXXXR2“
Note if you have a unit that is labeled “GDXCRGXXXXR1” and does not have a “Updated to Revision 2” sticker on it, it needs to come in for a free repair.
